This pot roast is one of Miss Emma’s absolute favorite meals, and once you give this roast a try, there’s no going back! Trust me people I am talking delicious! Now don’t get me wrong I know there are a ton of ways to make roast in a crockpot, literally tons, but for me I don’t have time to prep veggies, sear the roast and so on. I need simple, quick and easy. I have made this roast for years and years and I honestly debated put it on my blog. I thought there is no way y’all will think this is something you want to try. It’s too simple, to easy; but it’s also too good not to share.
This roast is perfect as leftovers as well… if you have any, which I never do but there’s always hope! So let’s get to this roast shall we?
First things first, the meat you use is important. My go-to roast is the chuck roast; it has wonderful marbling throughout the meat, and when cooked for 8 hours in a slow-cooker, chuck roast winds up being a tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious beef roast that makes a perfect weeknight dinner. *Warning* If you use a different roast, you are straying from my “pull-apart guarantee”. Other good choices for roasts would be the ball tip and eye of round roasts. However, both of those will be tougher and will require longer roast times.
Lots of patience. Patience. Maybe this is why most people struggle at making tender roasts… they aren’t willing to let it slow-cook for longer than 2 hours. You can’t rush a pot roast; you’ll be disappointed with the results if you try.
So, all you need is two ingredients, two main steps and one slow cooker to bring you an AMAZING pull-apart roast. When cooking a roast in a slow cooker I find having a slightly larger one is handy. Currently I have 4 crockpots and this is the best one out of them. - 4 - 6 Lb. Beef Chuck Roast
- 2 cans 14.5 oz Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Place roast in your Crock-Pot 6-Quart Programmable Cook and Carry Oval Slow Cooker
- Spoon the cream of mushroom soup over the roast.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Shred beef and enjoy.
